Catherine M. Adair, designer
A second-generation interior designer, Catherine grew up in Denver,
aware of the local design environment, joining her mother at work,
and observing her on the job.
In college, she began studying fine
art and graphic design at The Rocky Mountain College
of Art and Design. She excelled in drawing, painting and ceramic
sculpture, but found that she was irresistibly drawn to the interior
design department. There she discovered Kitchen design.
She became a student
member of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National
Kitchen and Bath Association and then joined the NKBA board as V.P.
of Communications, where she served for two years.
In her work as a kitchen and bath designer, Catherine draws on
her art background using all she learned about art and design principles
such as line, shape, color, texture, balance and proportion as well
as her understanding of historical styles and the aesthetics and
space planning important to interior design.
Combining these skills
with knowledge and understanding of Kitchen and Bath
design guidelines established by the NKBA, and conversations with
clients about their requirements - aesthetic, functional, and budgetary,
Catherine endeavors to provide her clients with the best possible
result for their completed Kitchen or Bath Project.
